How to use boring tool?
Pay special attention to cleanliness when mounting the tool. Boring tools, whether roughing or finishing, must be installed and assembled in all aspects of cleanliness. Tool shank and machine assembly, insert replacement, etc., should be wiped clean, and then installed or assembled, do not engage in sloppy.
The tool is pre-conditioned, its size accuracy, intact state, must meet the requirements. Indexable boring tools, except for single-edge boring tools, generally do not use the manual test cutting method, so the pre-tuning before processing is very important. The size of the pre-tuning must be accurate, to be adjusted in the lower and middle limits of tolerance, and consider the factors due to temperature, correction, compensation. Tool preconditioning can be performed on a special preconditioner, an on-machine tool setter or other gauges.
Dynamic runout check is performed after tool installation. Dynamic runout check is a comprehensive indicator, which reflects the accuracy of the machine tool spindle, tool accuracy and the accuracy of the connection between the tool and the machine tool. This accuracy if more than 1/2 or 2/3 of the required accuracy of the hole to be machined can not be processed, the cause needs to be identified and eliminated before proceeding. This point must be kept in mind by the operator and strictly enforced. Otherwise, the machined hole will not meet the requirements.
The life span of each part of the tool should be determined by statistical or inspection methods to ensure the reliability of machining accuracy. This requirement can be lower for single-edge boring tools, but it is especially important for multi-edge boring tools. The machining characteristics of indexable boring tools are: pre-adjustment of tools, one time machining to meet the requirements, must ensure that the tool is not damaged, otherwise it will cause unnecessary accidents.
